Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition Is Coming To Switch 2

Looks like I’ll be meeting Hanako at Embers again

If this game does well on Switch 2, the console could become THE place for all games in the go.

Another one that is ~5 Years old. Not spotlight deserving news.

It will be interesting to see how it looks on SW2 since that Eleden Ring footage looked so rough. Perhaps it's just because of YouTube's compression or not.

As a physical collector, I'm a little worried about cartridge size. Right now the Xbox is the version to get because it has two discs for the dlc where the PS5 version has a download.

😫 I literally JUST bought it on PS5 on sale last weekend for the first time. The game is great!
Haven’t been able to play it much though because the TV has been in use. If I get this on Switch 2, and I can play handheld, that will solve that problem

This is undoubtely a tremendous game, so seeing it on Nintendo's upcoming console is marvelous. It'll even have the current-gen exclusive expansion, which is cool.

I own Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam and PS5. If it runs well on Switch 2, then it looks like a 3rd purchase is inevitable. Cyberpunk is one of my all-time favorites and I have played through many times to experience the various styles and to explore what is one of the best open worlds available.

Hopefully it won't be like the PS4 Pro version of the game which had a lot of struggles and greatly reduced the number of NPCs walking around the game, which made Night City feel very barren and empty. But I have hope.

@ChromaticDracula Same, if I'd known I would probably have waited for the Switch 2 version....

Nice to see a game that had a trouble launch finally gets the great launch treatment it deserve. If this is optimized well on Switch 2 I may pick this up before the PC version. Yes I still had not bought the Steam version yet as it's still litter with issues.

It should run and look better than it does on the Steam Deck at least

@Skunkfish same!! I’m only about 4 hours in. I should’ve waited but I never expected it to come out for switch 2!
At this point now I have no motivation to even continue before I get too far and have to redo it on Switch 2.
It’s really just because I don’t always have access to the TV and I’d benefit immensely from being able to play handheld. (Not interested in PS Portal.)

it runs great on steam deck, where you can install mods, and tailor every settings to experience the game as you wish. switch 2, being a console, i doubt it will have the liberty you get on steam deck, but we will see, i guess.

Welp I guess I’ll finally play. My xbox copy has been in the shrinkwrap for years lol. Hope it runs well. Games like this (and elden ring) will set the bar for other 3rd party ports.

The only reason I can think to buy it on Switch 2, can you play FPS with the mouse feature like PC?

If it runs and looks well this will be a definite day 1 purchase for me. Hopefully the full game is on an actual cart and not a Cart-key or whatever that new thing is

It’s so nice to let Playstation and Xbox owners do the playtesting so we Nintendoos can play the ultimate edition.

So....I'm WAY out of the loop on this one. Wasn't it very hyped before launch on PC, then trashed on since it was an unfinished mess or something? Did they fix it with a plethora of updates on other platforms? I recall being mildly interested since it's based on a TTRPG but stopped following news after its bombed launch and the fact I had no reliable means to play the game at the time.

I already had Cyberpunk 2077 installed on my Legion Go Handheld since 2023.
Runs at 55-60 FPS, but 100 FPS if i enable Lossless Scaling.

Never played it. After the initial release was plagued with bugs that deterred me from the game. I know all that has been fixed, and people love this game now, so I'm excited to try it on Switch 2.

Nintendo will allow this but not the uncensored version of XenoBlade X?

I knew this was going to be announced today. It's one of the big reasons I want a Switch 2.

@Diowine people still buy GTA 5 (and tons of other games) like it is new. A popular game (especially if it runs well) is big news. Especially if Nintendo is one’s preferred ecosystem. Not everyone jumps into gaming (or was alive or legally of age to play a game) at launch. Or in my case I simply haven’t had time to get around to my xbox copy yet. Releases like this showcase 3rd parties will play ball. And possibly continue support for newer games.

The 3rd party announcements today pretty much halted all non exclusive purchases on other platforms for me as I will now wait to see if there will be an eventual S2 version.

@Tyranexx so the launch was a mess (and a few years after) but supposedly the bugs are mostly swatted and the DLC revived the interest in the game. I have it and the DLC but haven’t opened it yet (need more hours in day) so I can’t speak personally on it but most multiplat gamers I know like it quite well. I would wait on the performance reviews before committing to buy if you don’t have another system/don’t wanna double dip but suggest you keep your ear to the ground. If the performance is good the game is a solid purchase if you are into the genre/setting.

@Ryu_Niiyama I am happy to read Cyberpunk's reception turned around; it seems time has healed most of the game's wounds. Seems like a classic case of ultimately releasing too soon to meet deadlines. As you suggest, I am waiting to see how the game performs on Switch before committing to either this version or PC. I'm excited about this release at any rate, doubly so now that it seems it's all on one cartridge.
