Hello everyone. I had a very specific problem and I was wondering if anyone knew a cause or solution for it. See, I am currently at college, and the internet here is not the best to say the lease. However, for the most part I've been able to game online. I've played some Mario Party Jamboree and Splatoon 3 and have had no issues. However, some games just straight up won't let me play. It's not like they're laggy and unplayable, it simply always stops me with an "Unable to connect to other consoles" error message. The games that have done this are MK8DX and Arms. And it's every single time I try. What confuses me especially about this is that I've had way more issues in the past with Splatoon's online than MarioKart's, but the former works fine while the latter won't let me into a match. So, if anyone knows why this occurs and If there's a solution, I would be extremely grateful for the help!

@Bigmanfan Do you have a reddit? I'd ask in the Daily Question Thread pinned to the top of NintendoSwitch subreddit. I'd trim your question down a bit for there to it's core issue: college wifi works for _______ games, but doesn't work for _______ games, and describe the error. (I'd mention if it's college dorm, or whatever the environment).

@WoomyNNYes That sounds like a good plan. I'll go with that then.

@Bigmanfan It's entirely possible that the connection is filtered and behind a NAT especially in an education environment, certain ports would be blocked. Or simply you're gaming and the bandwidth is being redirected to others and you're being capped at certain time periods that everyone is connecting on campus.

@StarLord87 yeah you pretty much nailed it on the first one. A couple weeks ago I figured out it was the NAT type, because it is type D, which creates issues with games that rely on P2P connection.
