Why Donald Trump really want to ruin the world with tariffs?
Do you think we should give him some poison apple, for making him sleeping forever?
Or should we raise some pitchforks and fire to cancel the tariffs?
It's just occurred to me that the pre-order delay explicitly being due to tariffs might actually help Nintendo's PR a little in the wake of all this pricing controversy, as it makes it clear that Nintendo is at the mercy of Trump's whims just like everyone else and the high prices are not (entirely) down to corporate greed. But regardless, it's not going to go down well if the console price ends up increasing.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Switch Online
I know people in Europe are complaining the Switch 2 price is higher, they might feel better knowing they don’t have to pay for expensive healthcare and higher education like we in America have to do. Europeans also have much better job security and retirement benefits. Before anyone says Europe has higher taxes, America doesn’t have low taxes. We have to pay federal, state, property, sales tax and now much higher tariffs too.
Ugh. I'm not sure what to think honestly.
It could be the original pricing was corporate greed, could be a situation like the N64 faced.
Tariffs not helping...at least not yet, provided they will at all. I've heard the purpose of a tariff is to force predatory practices to cease by charging the group responsible extra, so they aren't making a profit. Or to punish a country that causes problems with how they handle the border.
It's funny. Whenever NL decides to post articles on their front page that are politics related, they know good and well that it's going to generate more views, drama and ignite heated arguments in the comment section. Once they get enough hits and clicks, they then deactivate the comment section and pretend to act surprised by the outcome. lol I guess the tariff thing is a bit different, but it's a no brainer that the comment section would quickly dissolve into a cesspool of negativity.
I'm more upset about those precious penguins getting trump-teriffed' lol
@Tasuki
Money talks. Don't even get me started on the hundreds of goof ball YouTube content creators and their shiny glossy bug eyed tongue slobbering thumbnails and their over reactionary BS to the current Switch 2 direct. It's so sad, having to resort to that nonsense just to gain attention, followers and cash. They have no integrity. This is why i like Mike Matei so much, because he says it like it is and doesn't over react like a total man child over everything Nintendo related.
Then you have the BS schilly' reviews that often gloss over the negatives in regards to a product, in fear of being knocked out of the list of free hand outs from whomever they're tied into. It's really sh**y, because they're lying to their audience who work hard for their money, just to feed their own pockets.
And even though i find YouTubers, like Maximillian Dood some what entertaining and interesting to listen to whenever he talks about Resident Evil. He still phonies it up and exaggerates with his reactions, again, to generate hype. Go take a look at his marvel vs capcom collection reaction video and you'll see. You'd have to be out of your mind or a youngin' to fall for that BS. lol Entertaining nonetheless! But he did what he had to. I mean, he made some decent coin with that one, since it has close to 2 million views already.
@WaveBoy
You uh… new to the internet or something? I mean, we old dudes can complain about this stuff, sure, but like… NL is honestly one of the least offensive when it comes to overreaction culture and all that.
@rallydefault
I'm not a big fan of social media, i don't flock to other websites for gaming news really either, so I'm not exactly exposed to a lot of this BS unless it creeps up on my YT feed. And it always manages to find a way even when i'm typing stuff in the search engine that's completely unrelated.
Either way, we all know the solution. Don't click on it, if it doesn't interest you...I've got better things to do like binge-watch Captain N The Game Master, while complaining about those Gen Z teenagers and their lame broccoli headed hair doo's. lol
@WaveBoy
To be fair, the single biggest market applying a 46% tariff on goods from the country Nintendo is manufacturing their hardware just before a console launch is pretty significant news. It's pretty much as big as news regarding Nintendo there could be short of literal announcements in a Direct. It's going to have a significant impact on not just Nintendo but the entire industry
I think Nintendo Life has handled this superbly well

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
Just a quick update for anyone that hasn't seen it, but it does seem the US and Vietnam have mutual interest in ending the tariffs, and it seems it'll happen sooner than later (I would link an article, but you can find like a half dozen on it with a Google search). I'm not here to get into any arguments or anything, just wanted to spread a little bit of good news.
@WaveBoy Hench why they cause alot of traffic for the site and they site posts them. I myself could never have my own news site nowadays. In the earlier days of the internet you could but nowadays if you want to make any money on a site you got post the articles that will get the views even if they go against your personal thought or beliefs.
