IO Interactive has confirmed that it is bringing its James Bond game to Switch 2.
Confirmed as part of today's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, right now it's still known only as Project 007 and details are thin on the ground beyond a brief gun-barrel trailer featuring some familiar music - it's one of those 'stay tuned' jobbies.
Good news for GoldenEye fans! IO also confirmed that Hitman World of Assassination: Signature Edition to Switch 2, as well.
The teaser in the Direct was very similar to the original reveal trailer from November 2020 when the project was first revealed. Check that four-year-old (!) video out below.

The trailer for project 007 was the announcement trailer from November 19th 2020
I've been waiting so long to see Project 007 it feels wrong to not have any footage or even a cinematic trailer. Still glad to see Bond getting a true revival.
I have not played too much Hitman but I know they're quality games. This is the perfect developer for a new style of Bond game.
The Hitman games are amazing, if you haven't played them, you absolutely have to. Looking forward to finding more about the 007 game, but it's in great hands, iO have been consistently great.
They are also making a secret Xbox / PC game and Microsoft is funding it.
It's a game they always wanted to make, but never got to make without funding.
Other than GoldenEye 007 for N64, I had no familiarity with any other Bond games so this doesn't excite me as much.
Didn't see a new James Bond by the Hitman developers coming, definitely curious to see/hear more about it!
I miss bond in my gaming. Most of them for me have been enjoyable, even some of the third person games were good fun. I just hope the multiplayer is good mostly. We will need an odd job with dangerous hat.
I just don't have the patience for Hitman... it bores the socks off me. I really, really, really hope their Bond game isn't just a reskin of Hitman... yhat would suck.
One of the best announcements for me. Wish we could at least get a release year for 007 though.
