Still not sold, not that I was ever excited about a new Prime game. Looks just like the others, which is a good thing for its fans, I guess.

I'm sticking with 2D Metroid and Returnal.

Lukewarm take here but I don't get theory that this game would launch alongside Switch 2. Don't get me wrong the game looks wonderful but if the Switch 2 is going to launch with something like...Switch 2 games to show off the hardware. I mean, it could come out in a similar time window but I can't see it being the killer app.
I have a similar sentiment towards Z-A. It's going to be Nintendo's big holiday title much like previous games. I can see it having a special edition Switch Lite releasing alongside it though.

It'll look weird having Metroid Prime Remastered and Metroid Prime 4 on the shelf and on my Switch library with nothing between. If only Nintendo could provide a solution...

This is great and all… but wait until you see the boxart for MP4 on the Switch 2!!!

Legit. I still think the Switch2 boxes will be bordered dark grey or black to differentiate the systems' software on store shelves. I hope the Switch2 will have baked-in upscaling/FPS increases on Switch1 titles, but I wouldn't mind a Switch2 version of this with the black border. Reversible covers, please!

Well done. İ have never played a Metroid Prime game before from start to the end from the game maybe this time is my time to play a Metroid Prime game.

If you could see her eyes through the visor then they would represent the two nucleus on either side of a baby Metroid's innards, and the third eye on her helmet would be the like the higher nucleus.

Metroid Prime boxart never misses.

@maulinks I seriously wish Nintendo would let you transfer your physical copy into a virtual game card, downloading the game onto your system and access it digitally while still collecting the box art.

@ear_wig I feel like we'll get a more robust MP4 trailer when they announce the release date, and at that time it's possible they could still shadow drop the remasters!

It's very colorful too, and that fits well with Samus's psychic abilities here
They could've added a bit more contrast though. And there's no sign of an open-world behind Samus, unless we'll be exploring big Dunes.

Looks just like metroid prime remastered. I got bored with that and didn’t bother finishing it. Shooters aren’t my thing. I did like Dread though. I’m going to pass. Metroid is a niche game and not on par with Mario and Zelda titles. Probably why Nintendo never bothered to remaster 2 and 3. It just doesn’t sell.

its just alright. I would prefer the red suit we saw at the end of the trailer. as someone else said I like the dread cover way better.

Aside from the obvious focus on the colour violet, there seems to be a floral motif going on: the architecture of the places seen in the trailer evokes images of flower buds, the planet itself is covered with vegetation, the aliens that seem to help Samus ("Lamorn", apparently) look like they have a blossoming flower with petals separated for a head, there is a boss fight agaist a creature that looks like a giant flower ("Carvex"), and even the background of the title logo seems to be a very stylized gaping flower bud seen from above.

The cover makes it clear that Psychic Abilities will be central to the gameplay; and in the extended version of the picture that can be seen on the Japanese website, there are some statues that seem to represent the Chozo (one of them is visible in the cropped version used as cover, just above Samus' arm cannon).

As usual for Retro's Prime games, the art direction is great - the building walls covered with vegetation, the use of sunlight, they make the environments look both beautiful and slightly unsettling...

It’s pretty no doubt, but the best Metroid box art was Trilogy… that let me know I was getting 3 awesome games in one package- so beautiful.

Box art is nice. Game looks boring AF. Remove Samus and it's just another yawn-inducing 3D adventure game with cut-down Switch/mobile graphics.

I'm pretty sure this cover was created by an actual artist. I think this is a great style for a Metroid game, because it follows the pattern of the earlier covers.

I'd bet that the trailer shows it running on S2. The graphics and animation were too smooth and detailed for the Switch
1 to handle.

Maybe it's just my imagination, but there's someone or something in the reflection of the visor of Samus!?

The render of Samus is really nice but her pose is a bit limp and I find the overall composition to be slightly lacking. Nice use of colour but can't help but feel this could have been more.

Then again, I still wish that majority of box arts were hand painted so I could be behind the times
