Does anybody else think that the open world gimmick in this game is kind of odd? It looks fun, no doubt, but I just don’t see why it’s such a big deal. I want to play Mario Kart, not Cars (I played what I got, okay?)! If it, like Cars, just allows you to just screw around while competing missions, then that’s fine. But if it’s an integral part of the gameplay? Then I’m worried. Again, it’s nice for a Mario Kart to offer more single player content, but it seems like that’s pushing aside the multiplayer content: there only seems to be 32 tracks, and the Battle Mode is also looking pretty bare-bones: simply having bigger tracks isn’t going to cut it. Hopefully, Nintendo proves me wrong, and the game will turn out to be a masterpiece. Does anybody else have any thoughts about this aspect?

Me. The potential is great if you look at games like Forza Horizon. I was expecting some kind of proper Mario world or Mario amusement park within this Mario Kart world, but what they showed was some Sonic Frontiers simplified events (with more limited platforming) and a hamburger joint where to get more costumes. They also added Sonic's grinding and wall running to the racing itself. It's a very gimmicky Mario Kart take and one that seems to focus on online interactions and that old time on the road vibe.

@CaleBoi25 Dunno what's more messed up: The R.O.B. Bike or the Dolphin Bike.

@N00BiSH The Dolphin bike for sure, especially when the Dolphin is riding it.

Oh, and in regards to the entire wanting peace thing based on one of your earlier replies that i didn't get back to. That's pretty much where I'm at. So many people love to create conflict when there's no conflict to be had. Petty arguments over the most trivial things imaginable. I've got 40 years left if i'm lucky. I want to try and spend the remaining time i have left doing the things that bring me joy & happyness(Drawing, just creating in general, Video Games, horror movies, animation, Music etc), and just getting away from all of the toxicity, be it bad relationships, friendships and certain family members. Hanging out with like minded people, who share common grounds, just having your own tribe of people, especially when you can feed off one anothers enthusiasm, passion and excitement is where it's at.

Like Charles Martinet said, "life is about finding and seeking out that bliss, joy and happiness wherever you can find it." And if video games are one of those things, than enjoy. I'm already losing track of how many people have taken jabs at my hobby/video games on and off through out the years, when they themselves pour hours into NetFlix(Prime etc), social media, their tablets, YouTube, constantly glued to their smart phones sifting through tick toq videos etc.

It's so ridiculous to have the gull to randomly trash somebody just because they enjoy a different form of entertainment than they do. None of us are going to get a shiny trophy in the afterlife for choosing one hobby over the over. To create conflict over differences in what we love, hobby-wise, is just crazy to me especially at this point. It's just so disappointing and even disheartening knowing that video games still have that stigma, that plenty of people look down on those that continue to enjoy the hobby even into their 30's and 40's.

The Happy console gamer made a couple of great videos about this very thing, when he turned 40 & 50 in two separate videos devling into the subject. To make it short he basically said, "You do whatever the heck it is you want to do with your life, whatever it is, and never let anybody else dictate what you should and shouldn't be into or doing, you only have one life, so have fun with it!"

I've got a handful of close minded black & white thinking dictator sounding peeps in my family. lol Video games are a waste of time they say, but drinking excessively, eating a horrible standard american diet, being out of shape and devoting so much of your free time by soaking in the news & politics on a regular basis is where it's at. lol To put somebody down based on what they're passionate about? Nah, I would never have it in me. I'm not that delusional and closed minded. People love what they love, that's what makes the world go around. We don't have to like what somebody else is into, but I'd never want to go out of my way to make somebody feel upset about whatever their passion may be.

I agree. Life is short. I come here to share my excitement of the hobby I enjoy with others who feel the same. Unfortunately there are, simply put, toxic people in the world whose enjoyment comes from spreading misery. They're miserable and like us, they want to share with as many people as possible. So a fansite full of excited gamers is open season for misery to find company. Kill that excitement and relish in the fact you're killing their buzz...

That's why I quit taking the bait from such people. You choke out the weeds by depriving them of water. Misery can't find company if you refuse to engage with it 😉

@CaleBoi25 Okay, but this is also the first time Dolphin is playable, so Dolphin on Dolphin Dasher is something that's never been done before. And it is super weird (and close to being too adult TBH).
