If you cast your mind back to May of last year, you might recall that we were impressed by a fan-made sculpture of Doomguy 'ripping' a destroyed DOOM cartridge in two; well, that sculpture's creator, Nintendo Life community member Zuljaras, has now shared a first look at their latest work, and it has got us feeling all kinds of nostalgic.
Rather than going for the same figure approach, Zuljaras' latest build is much more practical as they transformed their Nintendo 64 console into a StarCraft 64 battlefield, complete with different terrains, bases and Protoss, Zerg and Terran units. All of the models were created by hand using polymer clay and are permanently fused to the console, making it the ultimate StarCraft machine!

We must say, we are once again very impressed. The N64 was prone to having a fair few three-dimensional special editions in its time, but none of them were quite as detailed as this (sorry, Pikachu).
Zuljaras shared some images of the build with us, which you can check out below.
The artist has also created a video showing their sculpting and painting process so that we can get a detailed look at how the piece came together. Now we just wish that we could make something this cool ourselves...
Thank you to Zuljaras for sharing this awesome project with us!
What do you make of this sculpture? Fly down to the comments and let us know.

Thank you so much for covering my creation!
Half of the joy when crafting my things is seeing other people enjoy the final result!
that's cool @Zuljaras
@Zuljaras Congrats on getting your creation on NL feed, Zuli!
Just saw that in the What Are You Playing this Weekend comments. Does look pretty cool.
@Zuljaras
Bought Starcraft 64 out of curiosity about 2001/2 for 50€ on Ebay, had it for years on pc, so there was no real need.
It was the NTCS Version and i had one of those Adaptors, but the Game never worked, wasn't sure if i got screwed by the seller or not.
Hadn't the Money for a NTCS N64 and it wasn't as common to buy Stuff over seas
About 2018 i bought a Retrode2 and i was able to read out the Rom.
I than used a Everdrive to play it
Overall, it is important to hail insane and strange Ports, so, well done with your very nice homage!
Edit: oh you are from Bulgaria, my Wife also.
Have learned to read kyrillik because we wen't a couple of times around there ^_^
Saw it in the other article, good job @Zuljaras, it looks really cool!
@JohnnyMind @PLATINUM7 @ComfyAko @jump Thank you all!
@Azuris Thank you!
I absolutely love obscure ports like this! Other that come to mind: WarCraft II The Dark Saga, Dune II Battle for Arrakis, Quake I and II, Half-Life for the PS2.
And also, congratulation for having one of the best things Bulgaria has to offer!
I loved Starcraft so much, such a great game back in the day.
Well done, you're consistently one of the most artistic people of the community!
@TheJGG Thank you so much for the kind words!
@Azuris *NTSC
@Zuljaras I told you this thing was sick!
@Snatcher @Professor_Plumber
Thank you so so so much!
@Zuljaras
As someone who was addicted to SC1 from the first month of launch until 2003, this is an absolute work of art.
@ZeldaFan83 thank you! StarCraft is also a very influential game to me
@Zuljaras It’s very influential and I was addicted to battlenet until they opted for the realm system when Diablo 2 was released.
I love it! StarCraft is one of the biggest games of my childhood, and this brings back some great memories! I still work on making custom maps from time to time. My custom 1-player Pikmin SC map is one of my favorites!! Great work, @Zuljaras.
I love the attention to detail and the clever use of the shape of the console to contour an organic looking environment. Great stuff.
I saw this in a comment on the "what you're playing this weekend" thread and nearly commented on it, but thought you may be just reposting someone else's creation so didn't want to tag you incase you then felt you had to explain you just randomly found it. I shouldn't have worried! This is really beautiful work @Zulijaras, congratulations!
Process Zerg!!!!
Ah, StarCraft. Good times. My son is named Arcturus in honor of that game. Adun approves of this mod.
This is lovely work!
@Zuljaras
I have to admid, i've spend more Time in the Editor in Starcraft than in the actual Game haha
But both will count into the houndreds or above, even if never will be really competitive in it^^
Still have to try out WC2 on the Playstation, when seing them back then i was astounished to see that and Comand and Conquer for it.
A possible Mouse Support could make it easier.
Speaking of that, the C&C1 Remake on the N64 is also a crazy Idea haha
Quake 2 on the n64 is a really great Game and the Graphics are actually pretty good.
Thank you, imo it is easier to understand than other Version that adopted it.
@calbeau
Mine Valeriano :>
I wanted the O to have the spanish/romance Version :>
@Zuljaras You are too talented, this, the Doom Cart and your drawings (if you havent seen them check out the Artist forum). Damn, fair play
@Bunkerneath It never gets old hearing such wonderful things about my crafts Thank you!
