As a part of Nintendo Switch 2's third-party line-up, Street Fighter 6 will be making its way to the new hybrid.
The much-loved fighter will be making its way to Switch 2 in Standard and Enhanced editions, both boasting two new game modes to entice those who have played before. You'll be able to play in new Avatar Matches, and the mad lads at Capcom have even added some gyro-controlled modes for those who really want to work up a sweat.
What's more, a trio of new amiibo figures and 22 amiibo cards will be coming with the game's arrival — yes, amiibo are still alive and well!
Here's the official summary and a handful of screenshots:
Experience the next evolution of Street Fighter in Street Fighter 6 with three distinct game modes, new gameplay features, and enhanced visuals. Fight your way to the top with new game modes exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2 like Local Wireless One on One and Avatar Matches****. Enjoy new party modes utilizing Joy-Con 2 controllers like Gyro Battle and Calorie Contest. Plus, players can check out three new amiibo figures and 22 amiibo cards at launch.
Street Fighter 6 will be one of the Switch 2's launch titles, so expect to get your hands on it on 5th June.

Wait what!!!! Yess
Excellent news. As big as the MK World announcement for me!
Ok, that's the last thing I expected to see, amiibo figures and cards of Street Fighter characters, let alone figures of characters that aren't the classics.
At the very least this confirms Switch 2 will have amiibo compatibility.
This is good to get confirmation, it seemed quite likely 😀
If this game and Elden Ring can run on Switch 2, every 3d party game can.
PEOPLE OF NINTENDO THE TIME IS NOW TO FINALLY PLAY PEAK
I EXPECT YOU ALL WILL TAKE PART
Already have it on PS5 and Series X but triple dip for me. I love this game and have wanted it to return to Nintendo, in full, for the longest time. This is a great get.
Capcom! Thank you so much! Not looking forward to being sucked back into amiibo though. But as a fighting game fan, this and Yakuza 0 (or rather the promise of more Yakuza games) give me hope.
Edit: IamsoexcitedIamsoexcited!!!
I have this on PC but it doesn't run well on my setup, so I may double dip. I'm surprised its getting amiibo.
@Friendly How so? These aren't heavy demanding games like GTA 6 and Monster Hunter Wilds which the latter surely would have been shown today if it was coming to Switch 2.
Plus the majority of these games coming to the Switch 2 are PS4 version games not PS5.
so gonna buy this , and the amibos looked great
I was sure this game would arrive on Switch 2. Nice.
Finally, hopefully Capcom also bring Ultra Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V: Champion Edition to Switch 2 soon too. I want to play my El Fuerte, Hakan, Akira, and FANG on Switch 2 so badly.
The amiibo, never thought Capcom would participate in that product line for their game. Wonder if other companies might take part in it, I feel like 2K might ❤️ amiibo
Kimberly, Luke, and Jaime get amiibo before Chun-Li
What a weird choice, Capcom.
@Gamer83 Do your stats carry over?
Love to see the latest Street Fighter finally coming to a Nintendo system and even more so since we're getting amiibo of it, what a surprise (especially the latter part)!
Love the game so much on Series X, not sure if want to get again though.
Okay. Can you give us ULTRA STREET FIGHTER IV for Switch 1, please?
I’ve been holding off on the series x for sometime just waiting for something comprehensive with all the dlc but I may go with Nintendo if we get at least the first two batches. I’m really bad at fighting games but I love the characters in street fighter and it’s fun with friends.
@progx Capcom has already made Amiibo for one of their franchises. Monster Hunter.
@TCKuma I don't play MH, so I forgot about those amiibos.
This reminds me a lot of Super Street Fighter IV 3D, which was also avaliable on 3DS' launch and made good use of the console features.
Here though, this is definitely more in par with the othe console versions, with the added bonuses of the Switch 2
And about amiibo, I don't know what to think, but hopefully it will be at least useful in some ways.
how great would it be to get the upcoming Virtua Fighter on switch 2
@JimNorman edit: just seen it's already in the article about the upgrade games
Fantastic, I was hoping for this one! Folks it's been a while since we had a numbered main entry of Street Fighter on a Nintendo system 🥲
Thank you Capcom for giving Nintendo the first non ambiguous and confirmed black character to get an amiibo. 😂🥹
@Lady_rosalina
The splatoon squid-kid was black.
@Lady_rosalina And Kimberly is a tank too!
Physical is just a code on a cartridge, no sale.
@StAmbrosius Kimberly is actually black unambiguously and stated....and not an humanoid squid creature or racially ambiguous character "inspired" on a mix multiple ambiguous brown ppl and cultures........ Else id count marina the squids the octos and gerudo characters ...
