I won't go into the bits and pieces of my decision as I've discussed many times in other forums why, sad to say I'm not.
I'd just like to hear the reasoning of other folks decisions why or not they'll be tracking down a Switch 2 at it's launch.
UPDATE: Well so much for willpower, I went ahead and dove straight in pre-ordering a console, boxed copy of MKW, controller and micro SD express card plus screen protector/case. My family already think I'm non compos mentis as this hasn't helped any.
The reason for me is very simple, I want to play the new Mario Kart. I think it will be awesome. So far every device of Nintendo, which I purchased was worth it.
Edit: Pre-ordered the Switch 2 and the physical version of Mario Kart World.
I've pre-ordered the MKW bundle. I've saved around 400 euros in Amazon vouchers over the last few years, so I've basically only paid 100 euros for it. If I sell my current Switch, I'll basically get it for free. Without the Amazon vouchers I probably wouldn't have bought it at launch, it would have been a bit too expensive for me.
I won't buy this version.
I might consider a Steam Deck Oled when it will be on sale, or I'll wait until the Oled version with more energy efficiency comes out, 2 hours of battery life is poor....
Buying a brand new console day one / even during the first year is a luxury. It’s fine people if you wait a few years before getting it. That massive backlog won’t disappear anyway haha 😝

I know, I know - I know it's a bit silly but I just feel like I'm letting Nintendo down a bit here, having had every one of it's consoles since the NES at launch and now due to the financial constraints that it's placing upon me with the Switch 2 I'm having to sidestep this one.
Absolutely. I've got more than enough value out of my Switch 1 to buy it 10 times over - and the Switch 2 threatens to make other platforms (PC, PS5, etc.) near obsolete for me. I'm so enamored with the Switch concept at this point that there's really no going back.

I actually don't have a backlog (anymore). In the last few months I either completed or sold my unfinished games, feels great! That's another reason why I'm more than readyyy for the new Nintendo generation.
Pre-ordered one as soon as they went to here a few hours after the Direct. Mario Kart is the only game I'm getting at launch but it's all I need to justify the purchase.
NS1V1 owner here! After Direct for NS2 that day and next day I moved from Day 1 to probably no more Day 1 cause 2 main reasons why I wanted upgrade for around a year or a bit more now (even considered upgrade to OLED cause one of the reasons finally started feel noticeable/hit me due playing with my brother on our NSes at same time same games aka mine NS1V1 and he's NS1V2), those reasons was Battery Life and in same time buy even more space if I buy newer device. But they then announced that they coded device to work only Micro SD Express which is still not being sold at my country and it's newer tech so it's still very pricy. And announced that they only added 910 mAh stronger/bigger battery then NS1 while we expected at least 2k+ mAh increase with that much stronger system which lead Battery Life aprox time to be a little lower then even NS1V1. But after more days of thinking I realized it that NS2 is still upgrade I need already, just for now will I need move only games that I play at medium or higher from my NS1V1 to NS2 and hoping while Handheld I be able at least watch YouTube a bit longer then now, but to accept that games like Fortnite still runs for around same time only. So I still be Pre-Ordering NS2 + MKW edition at April 11th, becuase I will not have enough money for tomorrow which suppose to be official day for Pre-Orders in EU, because we can already predict prices here thanks to Pre-Orders started last week in Sweden and there is 600€/660€ while I have atm almost 550€!

Pre-ordered as soon as it was available - I still absolutely love my switch and the upgrade here is huge. The games are expensive but I think here in the UK the price of the console for what you get is decent (VRR, 120hz, HDR etc etc)
I will if the price stays at 450 in the US. I mainly just want a new Switch since my Switch 1 is really old by this point and it’s a good time to finally get a replacement.
Yes, absolutely. The games look amazing. I've been watching the reactions from people who got to go to the first Experience in NYC, and everyone loved it. I'm all in.
If I can actually get one! Haha. On the list to be notified from Argos, but unless I am at my computer and can do it fast enough then not for a while...
If I do, I might buy one of the games that are confirmed to run better via free upgrades as my 'launch title game', such as Mario Oddessey, which I have not yet played!
I have played my Switch, since owning in 2018, more than I played the Wii and Wii U combined from 2006-2018.
It has near enough all my favourite games from childhood. I love the form factor and ease of start up. My screen does have a crack across it and low battery life by now though, so for me I am all for it. I don't see it getting cheaper anytime soon, and I will be paying for around 3/4 of it in Nectar points (hording for years for this very purpose!)
No, I'll wait until there's a nicer colour variant available (or maybe even a battery life revision, but I probably won't be able to wait that long). Hopefully I'll be able to find the games a bit cheaper by then.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Switch Online
Too big.
Too much money.
Too many other games to play to justify the luxury of a Day 1 indulgence.
Too much other **** going on to feel comfortable diving into another generation impulsively.
Too little must-have new Zelda.
I'm onboard day-one. I've got my eyes on at least Cyberpunk 2077; I'll enjoy having a portable version of a generationally great game. I'm not sure what else I might purchase. Maybe Hogwarts Legacy, if it's all on cartridge, hard pass if it's a game-key card. Definite-maybe on Donkey Kong Bananza.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,438 games (as of April 22nd, 2025)

I am interested, but this is assuming I can get a pre-order. If I do, cool. If not, I will probably wait to what happens with game prices. I am not thrilled with the console price, but I was kind of expecting it. Game prices can sod off. I still firmly believe that no game is worth more than £50 no matter how good it is. I am only wiling to spend more for special/limited editions. £75 for a base game, even if on the higher extreme, I won't entertain. Not to mention my anti-online subscription stance; Mario Kart World automatically has less value to me.
On the bright side, I have not yet brought a few games for the Switch that I am interested in yet, plus I have a nice fat backlog to get into so if I can't get a pre-order, I am happy to wait. Beyond DK, there is nothing exclusive on the Switch 2 I am interested in yet.
