Europe/NA. That CG is a product of its time for sure but I love it for it

Minimalistic approach in Japanese ver would work if it wasn't so... repetetive? The shadows on petals show that it's probably the same flower copypasted and placed at random. Unless Im seeing things

All pikmin game covers are great.

NA/EU is my choice, love the vibes of GameCube art that I don't get as much with the Japan box art. I like seeing the captain on the cover as well!

If I had to pick one to have on the wall I would pick the Japnese one no doubt, but as a game cover I think the North America/Europe one is better for the job. It just shows more action and what the game is about.

I love this game.
I enjoyed 3 and 4 (did not like 2),
but this is the one I go back to again and again.

I get that the Western version shows the game better, but aesthetically speaking, I find the Japanese one better. The CGI from the other version has aged poorly imho.

The American/European cover better shows off what the game is about without saying too much. The majority of the pikmin fleeing, the blue pikmin attacking the offending bulborb, all While olimar the games protagonist just watches.

I voted for the Japanese version because sometimes less is more and plus the background flowers 💐 just give it a nice sense of spring time vibes. And as for the North American and European version, it's fine it's just that the cgi renders are a little bit on the uncanny valley side of things but still good just not my favorite though.

But these games wind me up at times something rotten. Even worse when you watch speed runners whose Pikmin behave themselves.

NA. It actually has substance.

I never liked the cover art for either of the GameCube Pikmin games (3 and 4 are adorable though).

I got to give Japan this one, though it's a little uninspired, and I acknowledge that the Western art is far more distinctive.

Japanese all the way. The EU/NA looks ugly and dated.

Gotta follow my bias on this one and go with NA/EU. It showcases everything Pikmin, whereas Japan's abstract approach... is too plain. It shows the thee main Pikmin types, but what do they DO? What is the game about?

I always felt the NA/EU cover looked pretty cruel. I still prefer it over the minimalistic alternative though.

I guess nostalgia is talking here. NA is pretty messy and the bottom left Pikmin couldn’t be placed any worse

The Japanese one gives go 0 idea of what the heck this game is. NA isn't amazing and looks way too zoomed in but I vote NA

This is probably one of the few times. I don’t understand why more people voted for the North American/European cover when the simple Japanese cover is more timeless in my opinion.

NA for sure! Japan's is just...not great. Maybe I'd like it more if the flowers weren't just copy/pasted all over the box, or if they filled the background a little better. My eyeballs kinda lose the Pikmin on that orange, too. I also think it would have been better without the english.
NA's is comical, suggestive of what you're getting into, and its era-specific art tickles my fancy.

Nothing wrong with the Japanese box art...just a bit too basic for my tastes.

I feel like the Japanese box art encapsulates the carefree feeling when you play the game. It’s also sleek and simple compared to the busy NA and Europe one.

The North American/European one. The Japanese one falls in line with that country's habit of focusing on the cuteness, but it doesn't tell you what the game's about. If you never heard about Pikmin before and came across that, you'd just be confused. It's three nondescript creatures standing side-by-side in front of flowers, staring at you. That doesn't say anything about what the game entails.

The North American/European cover is much more dated due to the CGI (which is why they likely switched to clay sculptures later on, which are much more timeless), but it does a good job of telling you what the game's about: Olimar working with the Pikmin to combat the hostile wildlife of PNF-404. It's the perfect way to introduce someone who's never heard of this franchise before to it.

I'm not fond of either one. Japan's is overly basic and not particularly interesting to me. The western cover has action going on, but the composition is messy and does not appear to be meant as a cover. The blurry background also gives it an odd feel. With that said, my preference is for the western cover, largely due to how they adapted the logo.

EU because it actually shows what the game is really about : mindlessly leading to their inevitable death your joyful troop of the cutest creatures ever who inexplicably decide to be devoted to your cause despite the fact that you clearly enslave them and having them be devoured by other creatures that are also very cute but are in fact blood thirsty psychopaths who feast only on the living in absurd horror scenes.

I never liked that old render on the European box. The Japan one is so much more appealing. Neither really explain what the game is, but the Japan one makes me want to pick up the box and look. The European one looks like every other box art from then.

NA easily. I can appreciate a more minimalist vibe but JP doesn'ft work for me here - it seems very... orange. When I think of Pikmin I think of more subdued, natural colors like green, blue and brown.

I sure love Pikmin 1. I don't know if it's the best in the series (that's probably 4) but it's so tight and approachable and replayable and it does not waste a single minute of your time with filler content like caves.

Not often I prefer Western box art over the Japanese counterpart, but this is definitely one of those rare instances.

That Japanese art screams "PS3" to me, for some reason. Perhaps because that was the era when region locking died and I just got to see Japanese box art for the first time. Or perhaps I'm just still scarred from Noby Noby Boy.

I dont get it. Why would anybody choose the NA version??? Is ugly as sin! The japanese is classy, and nice to look at.

I love Pikmin, but them being eaten puts me off playing the games ever again since 2. They have little Pikmin souls! I feel too sad! So, don't need the trauma! Lol.

I like a lot of Japanese box art, but the box art for this one looks like a graphic design student forgot to do his/her assignment, and threw something together right before class.
